Yamil Morales is the Founder and CEO of MorPro Inc., a Los Angeles-based technology company building the operating system for modern trucking, and the founder of the American Owner-Operator Alliance.
Trucking Roots
Yamil grew up in a trucking family in Miami. In 2012 he started working as a dispatcher for his father’s trucking business, where he saw the industry’s thin margins and daily chaos up close, along with how much of it came down to outdated, disconnected tools. Dispatchers juggled spreadsheets, owners made big decisions on gut feel, and every company pieced together its own software.
Building MorPro
He founded MorPro in 2014 with a single truck. As he grew the fleet himself, he couldn’t find tools that fit how a small carrier actually runs, so he built his own. He turned every part of the operation into documented systems and then into software, years before AI tools existed. In 2022 MorPro became a full technology company, and Yamil moved to Los Angeles to build it.
MorPro Today
Today MorPro brings dispatch and operations, fleet maintenance, compliance monitoring, and a suite of AI agents for operations, finance, and compliance into one platform for owner-operators and small fleets. Its flagship fleet, Pathway Transportation, runs on the MorPro platform every day.
Advocacy
Yamil founded the American Owner-Operator Alliance (AOOA), an advocacy group for owner-operators.
The Vision
Yamil’s goal is to give independent truckers and small carriers the same systems and technology that large fleets rely on.
